Asus P5W DH + e6600 overclocking

Been reading on XS about timings and i already know that you have to change the ram timings by speed if you hit over 330fsb.. to avoid hitting an FSB wall.

I'm currently running my e6600 @ 3.6Ghz prime stable but looking at the ram timings.. they 'look really cr*p' ... 5.6.6.18, i can't seem to change them as when i have the same setting and manual timings.. then reboot. The ram setting will automatically change back to Speed. Any way to stop this?

Also it took me a lot of volts to get it at that speed for some reason.

Settings made are as follows:

400x9 (never boots if i change the multi to 8 for some unknown reason)

cpu vcore: 1.55v

PCi-e frequency : 112

Ram Frequency: DDR2 800

Ram Voltage: 2.2v

FSB Termination: 1.2v

MCH: 1.55v

ICH: 1.5v

CPU Idle: 28c

Load: 42c

Core Temp averages around 43c idle.. never beyong 60c load

Where opposed to running 3.4Ghz recently:

cpu vcore: 1.425v

PCi-e frequency : 100

Ram Frequency: DDR2 760

Ram Voltage: 2.1v

FSB Termination: Auto

MCH: Auto

ICH: Auto

CPU Idle: 20c

Load: 37c

Core Temp averages around 45c idle.. never beyond 55c load

Just set the timings :) my GSkill HZ hits 450/900@4-4-4-12 with no problems.

Is that not considered hot for a watercooled rig?

My aircooled core2duo only hits 45°C on full load

Whats going on with the pci-e ? and the ICH?

I think its hot too for a watercooled rig.. but then again i guess it depends on the ambient temp too.. as my rooms pretty hot with all the central heating on.

Seems a lil high on Core temp though.. but i decided not to lap my CPU as it costs a fair bit. As long as its stable.. i'm happy

I changed the Pcie to 112 due to Finlays suggestion as he said it makes the computer more stable.. or so he says

and the ICH.. i dunno
