Asus Maximus Gene VI Reviews??

Hi Everyone,

For the Asus Gene VI, I have not seen any reviews and have heard many rumors about the board being recalled or bios updates breaking the board, etc.

Can someone please set the record straight with this board?

As a side note//
Please give me your opinion if my reasons for picking this board are solid or silly.
I have listed my reasons for picking this board below:

Wanted better on board audio.
I also want to keep extra cards in my Silverstone SG10 case to a minimum.
Graphics card
Wifi card (already own wifi card, so not using Asus )
So not having a separate sound card is a plus (even though sound quality is lower)

Want auto fan and auto overclocking software
(Asus has 4 way optimization, which I really like).

RAM Disk is a feature which has caught my attention, and Asus has its' own ROG implementation.

Not worried about M.2 ssd or wifi as have separate ssd and wifi card.

I did look at the Asus Gryphon, but found out it does not have the auto overclocking feature that i wanted, and after buying the armor kit it does get quite expensive in New Zealand.

Sorry about the very long (and first) post.

Thanks

Asus ROG series boards doesn't have the necessary hardware to run 4-way optimization the same way Channel series board does, don't be so keen on that. They don't dynamically overclock your CPU and run stress test on it, they just have couple of presets for average CPUs and it just increases the clock multiplier and voltage ratings, that's it. If your chip can't run stable with those values, you will have to do it yourself. It's false marketing on Asus' part or simple fraud... Whatever you want to call it really.

Wut?

I love people with 1 post who just dive in and give NO proof to their argument. This helps the forum no end...........

After re-reading your post i don't really understand why you would go with this motherboard, however that decision is yours.

some of your pros seem a bit trivial but there are alternative solutions.
-external sound cards can give you the same quality as onboard ones.
-you can get built in wifi on some boards (i think gigabyte ones)
-you can control your fans with software or hardware such as a controller
-don't you feel comfortable to have your PC constantly overclocked?
