wow, thats a BIG overclock, gratz to the dude who done that.

still i wonder what he was using to cool the cpu :rolleyes:

also i wonder if something (at least near that) can be done with a 920...
 
He was more than likely using LN2 or Dice to cool the CPU.

It is indeed a hefty overclock, and really shows what the ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution is capable of.

yeah i thougth about the nitrogen, but im still wondering if a 920 could get at least near since alot of people says the 920 is the best at oc, maybe its the best at OCing x money?
 
920 is the best compared to the money it costs, considering the 965 is costs four times the 920 and only clocks a few 100MHz higher at BEST.

A single or two stage TEC would probably have been enough, the i7 known not to be going at any higher speeds at extremely low temperatures.

i see, then thats not a bad news, if i get a new i7 build i can buy the cheapest one and still be happy with good clocks :D
