Article by Gamers Nexus Showing Serious Signs of CPU Age

They've written an entire article about how amazing Kabylake is vs Sandybridge.

Or they did this because everyone knows how MANY people always say, still on Sandy, no need to upgrade. So this puts the results in front of you.

If Tom did a test like this, would you still accuse him of taking a bribe and being a bot for intel? No. Its just data. GamersNexus don't have a track record of being shady, accusing them because "you know how Intel works" has no meaning besides what you are making of it.

We all know Intel are shady. Every big International company is. They stay big because they don't play fair. It's how it works. Doesn't make it right, but if you go around accusing every site for doing a review from Intel, Samsung, Nvidia, etc then you'd be left with no reviews...

From what I have been seeing and the reaction no, people don't seem to care about the performance upgrade. They are annoyed at the price, and the lack of cores. Especially because as I mentioned before Intel now make 22/24? core HT CPUs. Why is the desktop market still being fed two and four cores? it's absolutely pathetic. We've been stuck for over a decade.

TBH we would have seen better threading by now if Intel had carried on what they were doing with X58. But no, have to have these boards and chips every six months or so.

Also he has put an elephant in the room. GTX 1080. How many people do you know who have a 1080 and a Sandy CPU? probably not that many. So sure, with a GPU like that you are going to lose out on FPS to the latest and most expensive CPU but the noise I am hearing is that people just don't care, nor want to basically buy a faster version of what they already have. They want more for their money.

So instead of doing propaganda articles using a ridiculous scenario he should be telling people that what Intel are currently offering is a complete rip off and that they should demand more and wait for Zen.

I mean FFS dude look at the title of the article.

Intel i5-2500K Benchmark in 2017: Finally Showing Its Age

You don't think that's remotely odd? especially when people are basically saying they want to hang onto their Sandy stuff until they get more for their money?

It was shown when Skylake released that with faster memory the 2500k and 2600k could more than hold their own against Skylake . That's all of a sudden changed now it's Kaby and review samples overclock to 5ghz?

Funny that.

I've often said, again and again that modern hardware reviewers are no such thing. They are front men, yes me, salesmen and women. If they review a product badly they either get threatened to take the article down and or don't send any more samples to the people who bad mouthed them. We have seen it here with NZXT. Tom didn't like their case, all of a sudden he stops getting anything.

I can see through all of the BS. Not saying these people are necessarily bad but at the end of the day they seem to carry some clout at least when it comes to what people buy.

I think Intel need to take a good look at their business strategies and realise that for around £50 you can buy an 8c 16t Xeon. That offers up double the performance when threading as their £185 I3.

But they won't. Not all of the time their bots are doing what they have been told to do.

And you know for sure that Gamers Nexus is doing this? From my own personal testing, albeit limited in scope, GN has proven to be one of the few sites that can vouched for. They commonly reveal myths and no doubt receive flack for it from potential partners. We know this because they show their testing in detail and back it up with sources. If GN were indeed paid shills for Intel, wouldn't Kaby Lake be above Skylake? Your claim is very bold and I see no evidence to back it up. Intel have been known to pay off particular groups of people in order to push their own products, but unless proven guilty of that I really think it's unfair of you to outright claim GN is one of those paid shills, especially since no one from their site is here to defend themselves.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but...

- Gamers Nexus makes the claim that Sandy Bridge is ageing by showing benchmarks (edit: in specifics instances).
- Intel and whoever has been proven to be their lackey, which is currently viewed negatively by the recipient, has also potentially shown this.
- Therefore, Gamers Nexus is viewed by the recipient of the claim as associated to Intel and inherits how negatively viewed it is.

Is that correct? Correct me if I'm reading you wrong because I don't want to act aggressively or out of line..

I think the Intel shill argument falls on the fact they say wait for Ryzen and also this is only if you're upgrading to a 1070 or 1080

You will get your answer to that when Ryzen comes out. Let's see how many reviewers dare turn their back on Intel.

I don't think anyone will care what Intel says or not. Fine let Intel be against all the review sites except that one greedy one(LTT), everyone else will ignore them and Intel's board partners will pressure intel to do something about it.
Intel is not a god.
