Are laptop coolers worth it?

If so which gets your two cents / two pence :)

My lappy hits 60C folding which was definately enough for it to heat up my bed last night  toasty

Meh, I`d go for something that will lift the laptop about 2" off the desk b4 thinking of laptop coolers.

Flat on the desk, many HP AMDx2 based lappys get to 50million degrees just sitting there! Put em on something akin to stilts and they only reach 25million!

See if u can comfortably and strategically raise it off the flat surface and see how that goes for a bit.

Which one mate? does it fit the inspiron 1501 nicely? *thumbs up* How much cooler does it make the system as a whole?

Hopefully specialtech can get it in

Are there any that bring in air from the rear/sides then blow it upwards as bringing in air from the base doesnt sound a good idea to me..especially if its on your lap

Try THIS cooler

About two weeks ago I opened up my laptop (Took heatsink and CPU out :S )

I noticed that alot of dust had almost blocked the HS on the extractor end were the hot air is blown out this was just after 7months use

They all seem to shave about 10 degrees off no matter what price

Kemp does the cooler operate well enough on your lap (as in does it hinder airflow going to the fans? Where does the air go once blown at the bottom of the unit?)
