I erred in buying an Antec 1080 case w/True Power 430W power supply 9 mos ago before I did all my homework on SLI power requirements. Time just passed

by waiting for 939pin, then 90mm, & now Venice/San Diego.

Now I've done my research, I realize I need to replace the power unit before I can build my signature system.

If I get a 520 or 600W OCZ or Enermax 1 rail unit or any other unit for that matter, will all the holes line up when I take the old ps out?

Thanks. I notice the OCZ600 is ATX12V dual rail and surprisingly has a -5V which I need for MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI for Creative Soundblaster to work.

However, postings by fasteddie on power choices makes a good case that 1 rail is better than 2 rail for AMD systems in terms of not having to worry about balancing

The 520 is in my signature because it had the 1 rail & the -5V which I thought would be an advantage.

Maybe when you get up to 600W, it won't make any difference. If not, I'll go with the 600.

Thanks, Ron

All PSU mounting holes are the same... The new psu will bolt right in.

U won't need a 600w PSU unless u have some mega shit running in your case. I barely need it and I run more shit than most anyone ever should :)

There's about an $80 price difference. That's what I'm saying, go with a 520, u have nothing at all that renders the need for the 600.

fair enough, im not very familiar with the 600 watt model's only what i have the 520watt, so yeah if he does get the 520 he'll be laughing

I'm getting the OCZ 520 1 rail 33A w/-5V rail. With fasteddie & syar2003 power calculator making a persuasive case for 1 rail, the 600W 2 rail might be overkill, plus I'll save a c note. Plus I've figured out my -5V dilema for the K8N Neo4 SLI

Thanks for all the help learning power supplies. <whew> My brain is reeling.

Regards, Ron
