Give your local Trading Standards a call. They're the legal experts.

p.s. lapping is real easy. Give it a go - you'd be surprised.

i'll give lapping a miss :haha:

all i want is a cooler that will keep my chip cool, and if this will do the job then sod what it looks like, i wont see that bit

you guys think it will be safe then?

cheers

If it's flat and only discolored then, yes. Especially with AS5. All copper heatsinks, even highly-polished, mirror finished ones, discolor over time during use.

its the during use thats the problem, its brand spanking new, or supposed to be lol ( but i get your meaning)

everything else is spanking new..

it feels the same as the rest of the surface, i will be giving it ago when i get my AS5 (that will be fun doing it, never used it before)

currently enjoying the banter from the seller atm about how poor his customer service is

I think you can send anything back within 7days of recieving it, whether it's faulty or not as part of the distance selling act.

http://www.oft.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/1E6F3C94-8BB0-4374-A65B-6281E030C3C9/0/oft698.pdf

If you offer a replacement for faulty goods that have been returned

by the consumer, the cancellation rights under the DSRs will run for

seven working days from the day after the day the consumer

receives the replacement goods, provided you have previously

complied with the information giving provisions in the DSRs

Ok I know this is off topic, but please oh please use OC3D uploads.... People that use ImageShack when there are so many better, MUCH FASTER, ad-free options it makes me want to go friggin postal.

If I don't use OC3D I use photobucket.. Seems speedy enought! ;)

Sorry for off topic! :wavey:

Agreed tbh.

Hi guys!

fitted the arctic freezer 7 pro with some AS5

been running for the past hour, with the nice and noisy fan running at full blast (for the time being)

reading from TAT (IDLE)

core0 - 42

core1 - 41

or there abouts ^

nothing is overclocked, seems to be a few degrees lower than the stock cooler so far, will see how it goes over the break in period

Doesn't seem that bad, TAT readings are quite high.

Altho if it's not overclocked etc I guess it's not brilliant.

it's idle guys

having tried load yet, want to break it in slowly

or shall i hit load?

i am pretty sure it is on right, the paste was done right as per arctics guide.

nothing is overclocked and fan is running full speed

core temp shows

40

41
