Look it's better than stock ("WOW"), but you don't need a $400 cooler in order to get it.

EDIT:

markkleb @ All the reviews are like "it's the greatest thing since sliced bread", but look at the numbers.
 
Mann Popo chill for a bit lol I think Mark is sold and as Ares said it's free. Why not deal with a new tech for free?

The reason for this post isant if its free or $400..Its to get your opinions (all of you) because its important to know what everyone thinks.

If you think its a POS I want to know, or if you think its the best thing since sliced bread I want to know that too.

I value ALL your opinions.:)

Its a different CPU first, second they arent compared together and third in the other reviews those cases were a MESS of wires and stuff. It relies on airflow to work and if the case is cluttered airflow will suck, also if they mounted it on the back of the case and didnt cut out the hole for the fan airflow is REALLY going to be restricted further.

That wont happen in my comp. My temps will be a bunch cooler.

(now I just hope I get them)

Cool. However, an opinion is something that is accepted as true by that person. Opinions are formed in this instance on the merits of the product that have been offset against the negatives.

It's all relative. If you were asking 'should I buy this with my money' then I think most people would say no, but you're not - so our opinions are affected. There are quite a few factors involved in this. Anyway, figured I should get my thoughts thrown in ;)

Is the product innovative - yes.

Do I like the product - for some reason, yes.

Does the product performs well - yes.

Does it perform as well as other alternative products in the same price band - probably not.

Is it over priced - yes.

Would I have one in my rig? - no, not at that price.

Do I think that markkleb can mod this and make it a real performer - oh yes.

Do I think you should do this - hell yeah.
 
mmm looks interesting, i would also like to know peoples opinions on these coolers (eliminator/freezone). Have always wanted to go water but often leave my pc on for days unattended, scared i'll come back to a flooded case or worse burn down the house :)

Water cooling is relitavely low pressure and the pumps draw very little current as well. The pumps have a life span of about 50,000 hours and with QUALITY components should not fail for many years.
 
I'd say go for it. Why not right? I know we're not trying to discuss whether or not it's free but the fact of the matter is that it DOES perform better, maybe not by much, but it does.

So, for the performance gained it may not be worth the retail price, but the performance gain at a price tag of $0 = hellz yes.

I will have to agree with Frag on this one.

The best price in life is FREE! So if you really are getting the gear for free, then why the hell not?

I think they look pretty awesome anywho! :worship:

They use a bunch of weak TECs to chill water which is horribly efficient, and very ineffective. On XS, a few members who bought it said that at stock, it gave great temps, but once the volts were turned up a tiny bit, the temperature jumped and the system was no good whatsoever. Good watercooling beats the crap out of its expensive ass.
 
I think the FREE part is great, but the unit itself has something I'm not going for anymore, and that's liquid in my pc. The TEC/HSF I use is where I think its at, cold plates to help keep the cpu cooler than just a normal HSF can do it. Mine also helps keep the PWMs cool, whereas the Freezone doesn't have any extra air blowing over the PWMs. What made me a believer is I used a Swiftech Apogee with a single 120MM rad, then put my TEC/HSF back on to see how it matched up... same performance. But since regular HSF's are coming out with better performance like Thermaltakes V1 or Enzotechs Ultra-X, the TEC/HSF makers (and watercooling makers) need to make some really good products with outstanding performance to justify the amount of money they ask for.
