Any point in this upgrade?

I'm about to hit the PCI-E scene with a shiny new KN8 Ultra. I'm currently running a 3500+ Winnie, and i'm wondering if, in terms of performance, it's worth picking up a 3700+ instead? I suppose it's mainly a gaming/media rig.

Theres not tons in it... but theres not tons of difference in the price either. I`d say stick with what you have, if going with a 3700+ means shelling out for a new CPU. If it was "I gotta buy something" I would have said 3700+. Do you have to use the KN8? I`ve had a bad experience with an Abit board, so would be interested to know how you get on with it if you definately go for it

I've pretty much always used Abit boards...gone through an IC7-G and an AV8 3rd EYE and both were rock solid and great clockers throughout the whole time I used them, and i've only heard good things aboutt he KN8 Ultra.

That said, half the reason for this semi-upgrade is because SOMETHING in my current rig has recently gone wrong (its about 14 months old now), and I think we're looking at either the Mobo or the GPU. I'll let you know when I figure it out
