Any plans for AMD to launch new CPU?

OK, so I've been all intel for quite some time, however have always supported AMD as well. Anyways I am sick of intel for now and want to give AMD a shot, though it seems they havent released anything apart from Kaveri?

So does anyone know if they plan to do anything? or do they just plan to let the CPU side just slide?

I think amd is much more focused on their APU's these days and i dont expect anything amazing coming out for the desktop/gaming market, sure they will release something but considering past releases it wont be anything that will wipe the floor with intel, wish they would.

How are you sick of intel, i do wonder.

The road map as it stands is 2015 for a new worth while AMD CPU.

Well apparently we might see something completely different in the way of FX CPUs next year. The new head of the design team (whose name I have forgot) basically came in and got the chip designers to integrate the strengths of both their low power CPU archs and their high end archs. This was 2011/2012 so we usually expect to see something 3/4 years later which goes in keep with the apparent 2015 launch.

Don't expect anything too radical, perhaps regular floating point schedulers again and perhaps better efficiency?? All the same I'm interested to see if anything does come of this or whether or not it is just another rumor.

I see, thanks for the info, guess I might not be going AMD then :( Though if it does end up getting released around the same time as the haswell refresh then I might as well.

Also kinda odd that AMD is not going to support DDR4 with the 2015 model.

Late 2015 is the date at the very earliest for something new geared towards enthusiasts.

They'll release a new Carrizo APU next year, but the rumor is that it'll top out at 65W, so it probably won't be any better than the A10-6800k or A10-7850k.

To be honest I expect when they do make a successor to the FX series it'll be a completely different kettle of fish. We're talking low power draw, lower number but stronger cores, integrated graphics etc etc.

I agree, stronger "whole" cores not clusters, higher TDP the 59c ceiling is daft, Lower voltages, better memory controller higher than 2100mhz, much much much better irc's.

AMD have got their hands full with me. :)
