Any Mach I assistance out there?

Hey Guys,

New to the forum here. Back in 2002, I bought a Prometeia Omega Mach I from www.HardwareGods.net. Well, like so many online custom PC shops, they went the way of the dinosaur. Their site simply shows "Under Construction" now, with no news on other forums, that I've seen anyway. I have since sold that PC, after converting it to fanless air cooling, but still have my Mach I system in the attic. I now have a system built on the Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 which I have OC to 3.723GHz on air. Naturally, having already broken the 4Gig barrier with the old Prometeia, I'm itching to connect it again to this unit. I have noticed there are cooling head retainer kits for the Intel 775 family, but they are all for Mach II coolers or later. Is anything available for my old Mach I, and if so, could someone please post a link or two as to where I might shop. I'm in the US, but I'll order from across the pond if necessary. Also, does anyone know whatever happened to HardwareGods? Thanks in advance...

Hey! Welcome to EP-UK :D AFAIK the Mach1 and Mach2 heads are the same, so the 775 mounting kit should work fine, I think theres a 775 kit that deals with the Conroe CPU area better though, but Phil (store owner) will be the best person to offer advice on that :)

I am in the same boat as you. I can tell you there is only ONE difference and that is the heater element plug. Ours had the regular 4 pin MOLEX (standard 4pin power supply connectors) and the later Mach-2's had a 2 pin)

They do not carry them here but I know of another source that carries a converter plug to make the mach-1's work w/mach-2 heater elements. You can PM me for the info.

Or, alternatively, you can mod the Mach 2 heater plug with a standard molex yourself (The heater uses the 5V line (Yellow). So you would use the yellow wire and the black one right next to the yellow wire on a standard MOLEX. (They are looking from the plug end with the bevels facing DOWN, yellow, black, black, red) When looking at the plug on the heater element side the rounded pin is the 5v line (connects to yellow on the molex) and the square pin is ground (black on the molex and be sure to use the black that is NEXT to the yellow. That is the ground of the 5V line on the MOLEX connector)

The mounting kits themselves are identical. I'm using a mach 2 intel LGA 775 right now.
