Hi guys long time no see :P How your all well! Looking to see if anyone can help me here... I am getting rid of my water cooling and switching to air, also changing the case and downgrading a little.. I dont have the time to look after the water cooling side of it anymore and cleaning the inside is becoming rather difficult.

Ok I'm looking to purchasing the Antec P180 case, the Psu sits at the bottom.. The question is will my PCP&C 1kw Psu fit? I haven't been able to find anything on actual dimension for the psu section of the case. Does anyone own one that could give me a measurement?

Appreciate the help :)

Dave

Wow my sig is out of date lol...

Not sure it will tbh mate as its a long PSU! I wouldn't recommend the P180 as it seems to have some thermal cooling issues.

My recommendations are the Eclipse 62 or any of the Lian Li chassis's :D

Hey guys and thanks for the replys. The house has been put aside atm as I'm not sure If I'm staying on the island or going. Well thankfully I haven't bought the case yet :P I loved the idea of having a lower seperate compartment but if it aint gonna fit.. it aint gonna fit and not to mention if theres cooling issues! It's good to see yer all modding away still and getting those upgrades :)

hi,

Had a P180 for about a year now, if you wish to keep the lower fan in place,( its a 120 x 38mm) there is 45mm space over the standard psu, removing the fan gives a total of 220mm to get the psu in, if you need the height just ask.

Had no problems with heat issues, running 4600x2 at around 2950 24 x 7

cpu loaded, 36 using artic 64pro, just swaped out the zalman 7700cu, motherboard temp 28c,

ps and its under the desk

Thx Dave.. it still wont fit as the psu is 230mm.. its abig un. Looks like the antec is outta the question! Hey big Phil how are those Lian li G70s case? I like the look of those and I can place the psu at the bottom. looks like it mgth be time for me to go back to lian li and sell the mountain mods case :)

thx again

Dave

Guys - look at the phase galleries both scorchio and me both used an antec case with the PCP&P 1KW PSU, although I think it was a P160 - it's a tight squeeze but not beyond the realms of easy.

Cheers

The G70's are superb cases Dave - they are definitely up there with the best I have ever used, especially when I get my hands on them. The only negative point in my opinion is the supplied 120mm fans which are noisy. Sure enough a controller can knock them into touch but I find they whine and could really do replacing with alternatives.

I'll take an internal pic of my new G70 - which will eventually be metallic orange.

My 6600 is currently at 3ghz (600 mhz overclock), and Asus Probe II reads the cpu temp at 29 degrees idle. The system is virtually silent also.

lol.. I sold the XPS a week or so ago and have my first new desktop in about 10 months. I couldnt resist the 6600 after playing with my CoreDuo in the lappy.

Thanks for that Phil :) Nice setup there ;) Well i considered it and have ordered a different case altogether.. I went for the coolermaster stacker 830 as i have read some good reviews on it. Also if it turns out I don't like it ill head for the lian li g70. Once it arrives I'll get some pics up incase others are interested. Will update at the end of the week hopefully in the galleries section.

Thanks again
