Antec Mini-P180

With Stealth-Li officially being decomissioned over the next day or so there will be some tears shed over the coming days....

HOWEVER, this will be tempered by my new mini (ish) rig. The new m-ATX system will be housed in the new Antec mini-P180 mini-tower case. I had intended to take some pics of the new case tonight but only managed to grab one shot before the batteries 'stepped off' in my camera...and this image was well below par.

i saw the mini P180 yesterday and it is damn sexy... I like small case and this one is really nice, both in black or white. Huge fan on the top, a 120 on the back and plenty of space.

the only thing i don't really like about the case is the plastic feeling of the front panel, on/off and reset buttons... it gives a cheap feeling although the case is well built IMHO.

i think that if i had to make a new Pc now i will go with the mini P180 too!

i will be looking forward to see your new mini rig...

I am pretty interested in that case too.

I wouldent mind your opinions of building a system into it/ on build quality.

It is a knock up of the Antec mini p-180 (very pricey, very good features)

Silverstone TJ08 (cheap and functional, not that great featurset)

Silverstone SG03 (mid price, small light but very restrictive and a compromise on internals)

As you can see i dont want a cube or a box. I prefer the mini tower style of caseings.

Any others you can suggest i look at?

My rig is a mini tower. the case is from a japanese maker Abee, very good quality but somehow epensive... not sure if you can even find this outside japan, maybe some shop can import...

take a look at the link in my sig for some pictures of the case, as i sad i will defo go with the Antec mini P180 if i had to build a new PC now.

Having owned a Lian Li G70 (alas she has gone...) and an Akasa Eclipse 62 I am fairly familiar with decent aluminium cases. First impressions with the whole mini-p180 setup is WOW. From the packaging, to the attention to detail in terms of how the HDD cages slide in/out of the case. Rubber grommets in the HDD cages to dampen noise. And, as the images in MY ALBUM show, the case has the ability to take sizeable aircoolers!

The lower of the 2 drive cages will be removed because the 8800GTX is too long to allow it to remain in the case. Immediately to the right of this cage I will fit a 120mm intake fan. This will blow clean airl straight at the GTX and surrounding area. Given the m-atx proportions of the mobo other componentry including chipsets and RAM should also benefit from this.

I'll also be fitting another air cooling treat to my remaining 8800GTX - this will take the form of the ZM-RH588 heatsink and a GV1000 VGA cooler. Should also add to the black/silver look of the build.

All in all VERY HAPPY. More pics and posts to follow.

4HDDs fitted - 3 in rack and 1 in Zalman HDD cooler at top of the case.

Zalman GV1000 also on the GTX...

Colossous - will be throwing in an Enermax 82+Modu 625W. With a case of this size I need a PSU which is no deeper than 150mm - the modular cabling will be a bonus too.

UPDATE - finished the build last night (apart from installing progs etc) - it took an age - it aint easy building a powerful system in such a small space!.

This morning I peeled the protective film off the case front - and I was greeted by what looks like a scratch (but it is a fault in the ally) ARGH!!!! A transplant beckons!!

Well guys..... I aint been on the forums much of late but have just started clocking my little bruiser.... running at 3.2Ghz at the moment....just keeping tabs on temps and stuff. Am also considering a mobo change to the new DFI m-ATX board.
