Another long term gpu upgrade?

Hey guys

Still rocking my 8800gt with accelero coolings

Anyway, It's starting to feel the strain on newer games and I feel the rest of my setup is still adequate so was looking at a new long term upgrade (2 years / 3 years) as my 8800gt has lasted 2 fine.

Not too expensive to buy now and still future worthy.

Also how much to sell my 8800gt for to a mate - i was thinking £65 as it has the uber cooler

Whats your budget? I happily reccomend a HD4870 1Gb as I saw quite a difference when upgrading from an 8800GT. copes with any game I throw at it too and not too expensive anymore. quite power hungry tho. Of course if its long term you need to spend more than this and go with DX11

Budget is deffo the thing we need to know. Around £200 would be the 5850 atm imho, but we need to remember the green team should have cards in the shops around April time so price drops should be coming. If it has to be now then I would say 5850 or 5870 matey.

8800GT + Cooler is about 55/60posted, so 50/55 to your mate tbh.

Long term = DX11 = 5870 would be the best choice. If you have the money ofcourse

£200 sounds about reasonable

Maybe I can wait till april for the 58** but thats about what i should aim for?

if you have 200 nicker then atm its a 5850, if you can get 300 then my personal fave is the 5870 dudio.

Still no pricing for the nvids but they should drive down the red team prices.
