Another 5870 question

So i was planning to get a second 5870 lightning ii card on new egg because they had some for $220! unfortunately they are now gone! So my second option was to go with the Sapphire eyefinity 6 card. Now i did asked in another post if i can Xfire these, and it seems as though you can but you wont be able to use both gigs of the eyefinity card. My question is; is there a hack or a mod i can use to utilize both gigs when xfired with my 5870 lightning ii. ending up with 3gb total?

And he is playing at that too? Same details? What game?

13 more fps in Metro or Crysis and WOW!

13 more fps in Hawx, not quite so amazing

its amazing enough to to know that a 6950/6970 (i also forgot his is unlocked to 6970) is a waste of money. and in crysis i get about 18 more.

*doubts* What about processor? He could be playing on a pentium? I really don't believe you can get 18 more fps on an identical system with single graphics cards at an identical price point. There must be something bottlenecking for his to be 18 lower

He has a AMD 955 OCed to 3.9ghz, 4gb 1333 ram.

I have an AMD 965 OCed to 4ghz, 4gb 1333 ram.

the 6970 and 5870 are pretty evenly matched. at stock 5870 clocks the 6970 beats it. all i cad to do was OC just 50mhz higher on the core before i started getting the same results he was getting at stock 6970. then i added another 150mhz on top of that. so mathematically all he has to do is OC just 100mhz more and he will be on par with me again. problem is he has a reference 6970 so it overheats. he does beat me in unigine, but not enough to sway me to get a 6970.

Okay, now that sounds correct. I won't be overclocking my 6950 till i am completely sure the whole system is free from glitches causing my random shut down curse (will be taking my psu out in a an hour or so to be collected for RMA tommorow, no more PC till replacement arrives!

SAND, 5000's aren't designed for rendering real time tesselation, that's the truth

Thats not really true. They just are not as optomized and as equiped as much as the 6xxx series are.

My 5870 plays all my DX11 games perfectly, and eats the Unigine 2.5 bench and asks for more. AvP, Metro, Unigine, Battle forge, STALKER, BFBC2 etc. all run PERFECTLY in DX11 on my computer with all the TESS goodness. Even tho BFBC2 does not use tesselation.
