Andre's Z77 Personal Rig

Amazing cable management there Andre

Nice build but a one thing bugging me

Great cooler, no denying that, but those fans in "artificial limb" beige just look so wrong. whip em apart and mod em.

On a more positive note, the loom at the rear is a master piece. Cookies to you sir

While on the subject of modding, that carpet...well it...it's....Well it's awful..

Mod on my friend

OMG!! AUDIO

can we get some close ups and specs ;)

+1! Pretty please?

Thank you for the feedback guys. As far as Noctua stuff goes I understand it's sort of love or hate but personally I love the Noctua aesthetic, and all earth tones in general. As for the carpet I generally don't like a lot of modern/minimal design stuff. I prefer older stuff. (However I am going to be moving rooms soon and I will have bare hardwood floors there)

Amp: Classé Audio DR-9
Preamp: Adcom GFP-565
Speakers: Klipsch RF-82 and RW-10D

haha I had an amp like that once. Crown Macrom. Baked bean cans for capacitors

I took the lid off and was pointing at the parts explaining to my mate what they did when I accidentally touched the pins on the capacitor. I flew across the room and landed in his lap lmao.

God!!!!! I love that amp!!!!
Must sort my audio out this summer! Been dying to get a set of Dali speakers in

nice! what model are you thinking of?

The Crown? brutal lol. There's no other word for a 5000 watt amp that needs to be wired into your house like an oven due to the current it pulls

Your amp looks lovely and it's great to see someone who understands how to feed speakers (IE double the amp power to make sure you never suffer clipping).

Amps are very comparable to PC power supplies. Always good to have far more power than you could ever need :)

Here you go Andre. Some tech porn for you. This is the user manual for the amp I used to run 3 x 18" strokers with.

Tidy looking system. Liking the amp. Those blue philips axial capacitors must be getting on a bit now. (the ones in my leak amp were from about 1975) I ended up having to replace all of the capacitors in all my vintage hi-fi last year. Made for a hell of an improvement, more than i could have imagined.

Zensor 5's

Nice! Those look good.

Not sure about the age of the capacitors but the amp is from 1993 i believe.

Sweet amp and speakers! Please tell me you don't feed it mp3's? For the love of all that's audio....

I have a CD player that i rarely use, but usually i play apple lossless and aac files, some 320kbps mp3 too. CDs and lossless files do sound better but this system sounds really good with high quality AAC and MP3s too.

:) Out for cleaning or...?

Been meaning to have a close look at the board and talk about it a bit -- I had a few other cables and things i wanted to change so I decided to just pull the board out and do a quick video of it.
