Ok heres the problem I have budgeted out £1,000 for RAM, mobo, gfx, CPU and RAM.

Heres the problem ive already got everything planned out

- DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-D (£123.32)

- BFG 6800 Ultra OC 256MB DDR3 (£367.19)

Here comes the problem do I wait and pay more for the AMD x2 Dual core £399.44 or do I get the 4000+ San diego @ £399.44? Before you all go x2 (because u lot r predicatable) there is a catch. If I get the 4000+ i will have £151.27 for RAM and if I get the x2 I will only have £110.05..... do you think this is a fair comprimize?

Or do you think RAM is a major issue?? Because the x2 looks very tempting but then I think £110 is shite for RAM??? PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! :(

nice OCZ ram but ok mabe £150 then but i mean MAX that is im not spending any more??? wat RAM do u recommend with dual core?

BTW is that good prices? cos im sure u lot get a cut outta it...... and i no ur gonna say "no we dont were just nice, blah blah I no ur the middle man ;)"

thanks!

that doesnt help! im sticking to my grand budget because otherwise ill keep on adding to it I already got loadsa extra eg

-thermaltake armour case

- 2x IDE & 1x Floppy - uv blue cabling

- uv blue cable ties

- uv blue cablie tidying thingys (that go round the cables)

- 2x 12" UV lights cold cathode

But i guess i cud squeeze in £50 extra for RAM? but no more lol! I want ram for £150 min 1GB must be compat with DFI SLI-D thanks guys!

trying to get it so it will cost around £1,200

btw - i work, its hard but i get payed! :(

--------------------------

Also adding to that is the x2 compat with just normall 939 socket? And do they come retail (standard) with heatsink + fan? thx

Yes they're s939 cpu's and come in retail packing w/ an amd hsf.

I can't make any direct suggestions as to what ram works best with the new dual core procs as they havent been around long enough for thorough testing.

I would recommend TCCD based ram or BH-5 based ram.

OCZ PC3200 Rev. 2 EL Platinum ----> TCC5 (good stuff)

Mushkin Redline PC3500 ------> BH-5 (the new BH-5 = pwnage)

G. Skill LE ------> TCCD

Twinmos has some good UTT shit out as well... There are so many good ram options right now, you just have to find what you think is best and run with it :) Check out the ram guide in the AMD Memory forum and look at all the ram with TCCD, BH-5, and UTT, you will find a lot of stuff there.

dam ok ill go with OCZ i like that =)

Also Gladiator does not have the BFG 256MB 6800ultra but it does have the ASUS 6800 ultra??? is that pants? otherwise ill have 2 pay 4 shipping again ffs....

The Asus card will be great, if that's what you can get definately go for it... Asus makes some outstanding video cards.

SX does NOT make any profit out of that ram

it is supplied direct from USA from the ocz factory and only available to SX members cos we have contacts :)
