AMD RX Vega 64 and Vega 56 Review

Not all of the Freesync monitors use HDMI for it, some of them require the use of Displayport. For instance, the one I'm using right now will only use Freesync via Displayport - AOC G2460PF.

Oh, well, OK. But the technology does support transfer through HDMI. I can't remember what mine is. I just use DP. To be honest, using Gsync via DP only is not a huge drawback.

Great vid, Really miffed at AMD about this, I wanted a full AMD rig i.e CPU+GPU but the lack of power and over the top power draw have killed all fancy of getting a Vega 64 card :(

Ryzen was a pure win, Fantastic product, Vega is...well...a big fat fail.

As a side note I did a test on the rig I'm currently using, 1800X overclocked to 4GHz, 16GB 3200MHz, 1080 Ti Strix overclocked to 2050/6000, All fans at full and the max I saw was 450 watts, Briefly, Very disappointing to see such terrible power draw from AMD.

I know this is an old article, but this user is aware of the massive Tflops difference between the VEGA 64 and, say, the 56 and or the 1080i (around 10.5 Tflops) The power draw is not unusual and would be expected.

You can't compare flops to flops on different architectures. They are completely well different. Only performance comparison that matters is on the same hardware, the same test (game). And in that instance vs 1080Ti Vega has less chance than snowflake in hell.
