AMD Kaveri

Yeah that's the theory, and the whole point of the whole "Fusion" push.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing Kaveri benchmarks, it'll be interesting to see how the Steamroller cores actually perform, plus I'd say the IGPU will be quite powerful.

Also AMD is better off focusing on their APUs and GPUs (what they do very well) from a financial standpoint, even if us enthusiasts don't like it. Still, sad that I'll probably have to swallow my dis-like of Intel and switch to them in the future.

it will be very interesting to see how the steamroller cpu performs, its the first real improvement in ipc for the bulldozer architecture. shame there won't be a 6 core variant of kaveri.

I watched a youtube video where an AMD spokesman was talking about the kaveri demo playing.. was a quad core 8gcn unit chip running bf4 at medium(mostly) 1080p at a pretty constant 30fps.

Really like to see what kaveri will bring to table, would be AMAZING for low end users to get a APU that could do modern games at medium at 1080p

I think they are gradually moving back into the enthusiast market again, with the 200 series they showed that they still got bite,

Steamroller have a lot to live up to, and i hope it does, even as an intel cpu user.

Aren't i5/i7 APU's? At first I looked at this kaveri chip for a nice quiet casual use pc, now I'm starting to think it may replace my current ivy. Shock horror if it turns out like that :o

From my very limited understanding of HSA it seems like it would depend on if 3rd parties started programming for it. If they do that, then AMD's strategy will pay off but if not, itll still be far behind Intel.
