Amd Heatsync Fans

When i bought my amd processor i got a Heatsync and a fan with it as it is an amd athlon 64 3000+ so i was wondering are they any good????

depends on whther you plan on overclocking or not. they will suit fine for using your computer and it will stay at a bearable temperature but they do not fair well for overclocking. however saying this i am at 3.4Ghz from 2.66 on the stock intel cooler rofl! temps arent good though.

They're decent at best under standard operating conditions and stock speeds / voltages. They are better than the craptastic HSF's u can buy for like $7 online however. I always recommend upgrading your HSF from stock if you look to get a decent performance increase. Thermalright XP-120's and XP-90's are a sure thing and a big winner when it comes to aircooling performance.

a good one to get would be the thermaltake polo 735 thats a killer cooler litterally my friend got half his finger cut off because the fan is so powerful lol nah he didnt really but it ripped off skin and nail would have hurt

I reckon you're looking at a drop of 5-10*c with an XP-120 + Panaflo or indeed an XP-90!

Not seen the stock A64 sink, I'm using the very cheap Arctic Silencer TC. Very quiet and amazingly decent temps TBH. My only experience of a (recent) stock coller was with a XP2500 - it sucked compared to after-market sinks.
