Well, the 280X has a 250W TDP, two of them would then be around 500W TDP only for GPU, then of course they would be overclocked, in the same system as an overclocked CPU a couple of HDDs and so on. I think it >should< work, but I'm just not at all sure about that

Cards only ever hit their TDP when using heavy stress benchmark software.. a 750watt PSU could most likely run light overclocked Xfire 290x's.

This goes along with rumors. I'll wait to see what the 290 has to offer though. Spec wise it's between a 780/titan so we'll see how the price plays out.

So you are not surprised in the massive price gap between the GTX Titan/780? That's a bigger price gap than the 280x and 290x.

I have noticed though that the 270x is on par with a 7870. A 280x is a 7970. Where's the 7950?

Difference was with the titan and 780 that the difference was at the top end, the £550 to £800 sector can't exactly be as competitive as the one hovering around the £300 mark.

Okay, so when Nvidia comes up with something quicker, what will AMD do?
Quickly change to architecture? Just overclock the shit out of it like on the 9xxx series CPUs? Nah, I doubt that.

Everyone forgets about the 290.. Maybe that will come out on the 15th? Then after the 290x coming out at a later date. A 290 vs a 290x is = to a 780 vs Titan so we all know value and performance is a huge win for a 290.

yeah am seriously worrying about the price at the mo, as i have £450 in the bank an £100 deposit down i think i may be a little shy of the price given them marks
