AMD FX-8350 to the limit!

I have had both those boards and I got to 4.7ghz on my 8350 with 4 cores on the sabertooth with a noctua D14 cooling it but either board I would highly recommend :)

I think that the sabertooth has more "extreme" settings regarding the current the voltage and the vrms

Back on track, have you found yourself a CPU Cooler yet? I have a Coolermaster Hyper TX3 sitting around here doing nothing if you want it.

I had a CHVFZ and a M5A97 and yeah, there are a metric ton of extra menus and calibration settings on the higher end boards.

Regarding the silicon lottery? tbh I had two 8320s and both of them were demon clockers. On multi alone they were awful, but with huge FSBs I could get very high clocks out of them. AMD are binning for 5ghz chips that they charge pretty much double for - don't be fooled ! all of those failed Centurions are sold as 8320 and 8350.

I can get my 8350 to 5Ghz on my sabertooth990fx 2.0 but I'm not comfortable with the temperatures. Interestingly enough if I do the FSB oc I need lower voltages than doing it via mutliplier. I still have to find 2-3 hours of quiet time to tinker with the settings
