You can do yeah (with AMD at least), but the 4GB card will be reduced to 2GB.

I had 2 7850s in Crossfire for over a year and out of the box it was pretty bad because of the microstutter. RadeonPro (http://www.radeonpro.info/) solved the microstutter problem in almost everygame except for a few. Far cry 3 was unplayable even with RadeonPro profile for example, but others really became smooth. Just thought i would share this for anyone thinking about getting another card

I've had 2 7970's in crossfire going on over 18months and never had any microshutter at all.

Here's a question/statement,
Do I really have uninstall then re-install drivers in the first step
Last time I had done that, it took me hours to get the tower working right again.(this guy's first bridge)

Thanks for the quick overview! I've only recently cared about crossfire and SLI and this was short and to the point.
