Does anybody have experience with the built in AMD video converter that is built into the GPU driver software? If so, it uses the graphics power to encode the video? Does nvidia have a similar piece of software?

I went to use it and it's not actually an encoder, it's now just a tickbox for GPU encoding acceleration, nothing more.

I don't think Nvidia has an equivilant, CUDA acceleration kicks in by default with no configuration required.

Mines just a tick box as well

Same here, I get the option to check the box for acceleration, but there is no options for anything else including choosing a file.

But I did play with the video settings in that, and it allows me to override standard web settings and let the video card choose how well web video looks, I made some tweaks and my HULU videos look much better.

I had the same problem. All I saw was the tick-box in AMD Control Center.

Steps to resolve:

- Go to http://sites.amd.com..._win7-64.aspx#2

- Click on AMD Media Codec Package from the "Optional Downloads" tab

- Download and install AMD Media Codec

- Restart PC. (This is important, you will only see the "Start Video Converter" button in your control center after you restart)
