AMD announce 3 more developer partnerships for Mantle

AMD today announced three new game developer partnerships for Mantle, its highly acclaimed graphics API. Cloud Imperium Games (developers of Star Citizen), Eidos-Montréal (developers behind Thief and Deus Ex human revolution), and Oxide Games (currently designing the new Nitrous engine).

All these developers will join AMD and DICE during APU 13 (November 11-14), to speak about mantle and its benifits. Oxide games also will be showing a public sneak preview of Mantle's performance at this event.

Bagging Eidos is good for AMD, they are owned by Square Enix.
Good to see Star Citizen will be using it as well, never heard of Oxide Games though.

Oxide Games is a very new thing, Stardock was the company that funded it.

The company was formed by several industry veterans, mostly from stardock and Firaxis games. They are building a new game engine called "Nitrous" designed for PC and next gen consoles.

This Engine supporting Mantle is very good for AMD, now every game using it will have an advantage on AMD gpus.

With support for both mantle and physx, star citizen will take advantage of the benefits of all platforms.

Great to see a developer doing this.

Im hoping this gives amd the boost they need on their 8 core CPU as frostbite supports 64 bit processing on 8 cores and should really boost fps in games.

pc gaming getting the only benefit consoles have, low level apis.

They are showing BF4 running Mantle at the AMD developer summit today. Can't find a live stream for it but no doubt there will be videos uploaded and information posted arround.

Rebellion games have now announced that they too will be supporting mantle in their in house engine and all their new games including their upcoming Sniper Elite game.

Rebellion are the studio that brought us games like Sniper Elite and Alien vs Predator.

Another developer is another win for amd, we will have to wait and see if more developers follow suit.
