Hi i have been asked to start new thread.

I am looking at either the Gigtabyte X870E Aorus Xtreme AI TOP WiFi DDR5 E-ATX form factor Motherboard which i havent found to much information test wise or Gigabyte X870E Aorus Master WiFi DDR5 Motherboard. I do love some of the features the Xtreme has but im yet to see any information and is it worth buying or wait and see what Gigabyte event to see what they release?

If you're able to wait, then I'd wait a bit as there's an AMD refresh of boards, I know of MSI's Max series coming soon, so there'll probably be releases from all the other manufacturers too, as to when they're coming I'm not sure of, possibly in January when AMD announce their AM5 refresh, or maybe late Q4. 2025.

IIRC, some of Gigabyte's motherboards already have larger ROM chips, like MSI's upcoming MAX series boards. MSI's MAX boards should be available within the next month or two.

TBH, I am not a huge fan of Gigabyte. They have had problems with boards in the past, but I haven't heard anything negative about their latest AM5 products. It's more their older Intel stuff and voltages that gave me a bad impression of them.

What features are you interested in? To be honest. I would usually recommend getting the cheapest motherboard that has the features you need from a manufacturer you like. Performance doesn't really change that much motherboard-to-motherboard, but connectivity features can change a lot.

Do you use a lot of USB connections? Need more M.2 slots or need the 10Gb ethernet on the top-end motherboard? If not, saving money and getting the lower-end motherboard is probably the best thing, at least in my eyes.

I have seen gigabyte's latest releases. The new Xtreme AI Top 3D looks like the go! I am looking to push features and audio plus being future proof for the upcoming Features. So I've narrowed them down to Xtreme AI TOP or TOP 3D or Master.

I usually go ROG but supplier can't get them and has to outsource which cost me alot more. So we will see what Aorus can do this time round. I have had Aorus boards before and I have been lucky mostly but have had to REM before.

We will see what is available and what I can get at a reasonable price here in Australia which over charge for PC parts.

Fair enough. Just see what your budget allows and really look into the different features. From there you can judge what you need.

What CPU are you planning to use?

Yeah I don't have a budget. So price isn't an issue just features and if it meets my needs. I am using the 9800x3D first time using AMD in a very long time I mean 20 years plus maybe haha 😅 always been Intel until recently.

Fair enough. I wish price wasn't an issue for me. Haha.

9800X3D is a fantastic gaming CPU. Just make sure you pair it with a good memory kit.
