50 quid ??? I paid 26 from CJS for the limited edition for Uplay.

Diyeyal, in these times there is no need to pirate anything anymore, you just patiently wait for a sale on GMG, Gamersgate or Steam and be done with it. I have been like you, downloading and then buying or not, but my morals came up as i got older and with the insane deals we get now, there is no need to do it. If you are truely excited for a game, watch youtube and see if its atleast good in game mechanics, then just buy it!

Can we get back to ubisoft being utterly stupid again?

Yeah, I'm sorry for derailing this thread. Got a little carried away.

wasn't a compliment
Okay.

Show me an invalid point I have made, and please don't put things out of context.

Breaking the law is immoral
Stealing is breaking the law
Doesnt matter if you put it back
Piracy is stealing
Stealing is breaking the law
Breaking the law is immoral

Nothing is out of context here

Ok simple question for you just answer Yes or No, Have you downloaded/torrented a full game without paying for it ?

Yes. And deleted it soon after. Many times..

I do not intend to keep derailing this thread. If you want to continue the discussion I will be more than happy to answer in a PM.

This thread isn't derailed, it's about piracy and this discussion is about the moral standpoint we take.
You are stealing, doesn't matter whether you delete the game or not. People are paying for the privilege to play the game on launch day and you think this doesn't apply to you. Instead you are somehow trying to justify your theft, which doesn't change the facts.

Yea and that's the great misconception. Just because you aren't stealing directly out of their pocket doesn't mean you aren't stealing. A game might only have to be made once, but compared to a burger it costs millions of dollars to make, not $2.
When you test a game at your friend's house then he at least paid for the game, when you pirate the game nobody paid for it. Also you can't take the game from your friend, when you pirate the game there is no obligation to delete it.
And don't tell me you bought every game you ever pirated and liked and deleted every game you didn't like, not buying that.
Piracy causes damages worth billions of dollars every year and you are part of the problem, your pseudo morals don't change that.

No offense dude but for a guy that uses netflix via vpn, which is not exactly legal either, should not be preaching morals.
Pirating can be discussed very diversly and there are studies that show that it actually helps the industry. Don't get me wrong, Pirating is a crime. But if you compare it to actually stealing material things, you are going to far imho.

Send me a PM and I will be happy to answer your question. The main topic of this thread is Ubisoft generalizing the PC community and not whether or not piracy is morally wrong.
I firmly believe that what I do isn't. I will not answer to anything on this thread.

Not going too far at all, If you don't pay for said item and still obtain it via downloading/torrenting it's stealing doesn't matter if the item is physical or digital, Stealing is stealing.

The thread is about Ubisoft yes but also about piracy, Can't say it's derailing it because you don't like the fact people have pointed out your committing illegal acts ;)

Plus, Doesn't matter if you think it's morally wrong or not, It's still committing a crime by obtaining goods you haven't paid for which otherwise would be unobtainable without exchanging the required amount of funds for said item.

I pay the german price for Netflix (which is quite a bit more expenisve) and the VPN is legal.
Whether you steal something material worth $60 or something digital worth $60 makes no difference in my books.

Why? Digital things also take money and manpower to create. I don't see a huge difference between stealing something digital and something physical.
