an extra reason to buy a physx card:cool:

free games are cool but they really need to start making games that can fully utilise the physx cards hardware afaik there are only a handfull that do(maybe less?)

i see it as a marketing gimmick tbh because of the lack of games with physx technology they are throwing in those games as an incentive to try to make you buy a physx card.

Raging's £0.02p :p

Wait, is City of Villains an MMO?? Anyhow, nice offering from AGEIA, going to definately look in to this more closely when Newegg starts promoting this deal.

Edit: oooh, Newegg is having an instant $40 off sale on the Asus PhysX card *hovers over the checkout button*

I don't see the point it the board yet.

Hardly any games support and the next gen GFX cards and made to process pysics with Direct X 10.

But nice deal!

Software PhysX rendering will never be as powerful as true hardware rendering brute. My hope is that next gen vid cards actually have a physics processor onboard, I was actually hoping that's why the damn G80's were 3 feet long :(

DX10 is not a physics API. Ageia has their own physics API. Games don't have to be DX10 to work with Ageia's API.

Once UT2K7 is out and if it makes enough difference to gaming then maybe then an Ageia card will be a good idea.

I read that DirectX 10 would use the GPU to process the pysics... :o

Maybe im wrong...:(

it probably will in some way......to an extent of course but will only be for simple things and wont come too close if at all to having a physx card.

i would imagine ageia has some stiff copyrights on their physics too (i would do,if they dont maybe they are retarded? :p)

becuase if all graphics cards manufs started making gpu's with onboard physics processing then nobody would even look at a physx card.

cheers.

UT2K7 would be amazing with a PhysX card. If there is a big difference between the game with and without, than I will more than likely end up buying one for my upcoming upgrade :)
