I know i can fill it in,
but is there a way it can been shown under a avatar ?

and if this is not the case is it possible by any change,
i alway like it when i see how old a person is

Of course you could fill anything in, but hey that will come eventually...^_^
just wondering nothing more or less !

All the best Ray(mond)........

I maintain that our OC3D status should be based on rep, not post count.
1,000 posts of nothing but useless drivel and BAM: OC3D Elite.

Then you get friends making a load of +'s to his friend because they like eachother,
doesn't sound to good to me........

The current system has a similar flaw though, people spouting nonsense regularly become "elite". Mabey a hybrid of the two where you became elite with 1000+ posts and maintained a rep of + whatever? best of both?

True, but I think this community is active enough to note who's exploiting the system.
We had reps before, after all.
And, as Perturabo says, this current system has its flaws too.
I remember, back when we could see eachother's rep, looking at two different members. One had around 350 posts, the other over a 1,000. The latter had the majority of his posts in the Introduction page, and had far less rep than the member with 350 posts. Using the status system, the 'Greeter' was a higher tier of member.
In reality, and i've spoken to James about this before, the status system doesn't really mean too much anyway - something that James made me realise.
You're far more likely to pay attention to someone who's giving clear, concise information while backing their points up than someone who's got a lot of posts to their name.

I think it means more to the user at the end of the day than the people we're helping.
On these forums we're very good at correcting anyone's bad advice anyway though so regardless of whether it's someone with 10,000 posts, or 10 posts, if someone advises a bad product or says something wrong we'll correct it.

No way to incorporate both methods into it? I dunno - like the rank being based on posts, and the colour of it is changed based on likes - or the other way round.

Just an idea since people seem undecided :p

To me - it actually doesn't make that much difference. We know all the regular users on here anyway, we know how knowledgeable they are, and in what areas specifically - and we know the people who don't know anything.

It is quite easy to spot the people who are just posting 'welcome', and 'nice build mate' in every introduction and rig gallery
