Aftermarket rx480

Hey there,
I've been following the recent chaos with graphics cards and i'm wondering what I should go for really. Do you think it would be worth me waiting 1-2 weeks for the aftermarket cards to launch, or should I just buy a reference model?

I'm really only upgrading from my 7870 because I need a 'VR ready' gpu for my oculus.

I love the nvidia cards but they are pretty pricey, and i'm not sure about waiting for the 1060 just to have to wait again for aftermarket versions. I'm not overly keen on those classic stock fans.

Any thoughts?

I'd personally wait to be honest.
And with waiting you gain a better card all around. The reference card is limited in basically every way

A lot of people favoring the power colour one just because of that cooler, but I quite fancy the look of that sapphire one too :). It's neat

TBH mate they all look very good. It will all come down to clock speed though really. Oh and price. IIRC the Nitro is £249 and the Devil is £255? something like that. Good non gouged prices though IMO.

I will be looking at a 480 in a couple of weeks for a Linux box I'm going to work on after I've sorted my main rig.

Nust to chime in nVidias current gen appears to have an issue with VR and their DP. So either way if yoir on a budget, go for the RX 480. The aftermarket models are defo worth the wait.
