Advice Wanted (HD 7950 or GTX 660Ti)

So I was aiming to build a somewhat future-proof gaming rig, yet I can't decide between a Sapphire Vapox-X HD 7950 and a EVGA 660Ti. As far as I have seen (benchmark wise) they both perform very similarly. At the moment I am slightly towards the HD 7950 as it has extra memory. (Also I know the GTX 670 is a very good card although I can't afford the extra dough!).

PC Specs:
Corsair GS700 PSU
Asus Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard
Sharkoon T9 ATX Midi Tower Case
Samsung F3 HD103SJ 1TB Hard Drive
16GB (1600MHz) Corsair Vengence RAM
i5 3570k

Any other PC recommendations would be much appreciated!

I tend to go for the nVidia 660ti as of nVidia's 6 series features, however that is just me and for pc spec wise you would greatly benefit an SSD to speed up almost everything.

Yeah I agree with Mulac, an ssd is IMO the biggest upgrade you can make at the moment, fully worth it, maybe a Samsung 840 or a Crucial M4?

Mulac,why go w/ 660ti?
AMD 7950 is faster, plus some will overclock like nobodys bussiness $)
gunner1chase,I would personally go w/ 7950,or even gtx 670 if you can find a good deal on it
Btw,I totally agree w/ guys above, you'll benefit a lot from having an SSD in you rig.

Ssd

I was looking at installing an SSD at a future stage, I know that there is a MASSIVE speed boost but I am concerned that currently it would be a waste of money. SSD prices are constantly falling and speeds are increasing.

The 660ti is cheaper for a reason though, it isn't as good, simple as

Edit : And there are 7950's for quite a bit cheaper than that 660ti

To be perfectly honest with you,you won't need 3gigs of Vram, unless you have a triple screen setup or a 1440p screen, but then you'll need a lot more power than 660ti can offer))You'll be looking at 680 minimum.Dont need 3gigs of vram
