I posted a thread about a week ago about a new set up i was planning to get which was the following:

AMD fx 6100

asus 990fx sabertooth

and the corsiar H80

I have now changed my mind and want to make a intel build with the following:

Intel Core i5-2500K

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P

And the corsiar H80

Just wondering what your views are on each setup and alo you you reccomend the GA-Z68XP-UD3P or would you reccomend paying a bit extra and getting the GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 and also what is the differances between them.

Also im guessing this all would fit in a fractal design define R3

For each build the price differance is about £30 which is ordered from www.shop.bt.com which i think is now part of dabs.com.

Would you reccomend www.aria.co.uk as they have the parts at a very good price.

EDIT: i forgot to add the main uses for this pc will be gaimg and also using video incoding programs.

Thanks

Is definitely go for the ud5 if you can afford it, shop wise, go with the cheapest place with a good reputation/ or that you've dealt with before and liked, for me its overclockersuk

Ok thanks so no amd then

The GA-Z68XP-UD3 is a great motherboard with good value. If you want something that will get you through the day and still have some extra features to play with, then go for it. The main difference in the Gigabyte UD series is; overclocking features (more BIOS tweaks and buttons on the HK etc), number of PCIe lanes, Memory support, I/O options and connections in general, some extra durability and safety stuff on the most expensive ones.

Just look at them and think about what you need, what you may want to supply in the future. If you are planning to overclock you should take that into consideration as well, although in my opinion all UD3+ boards will do alright.

Thanks for all the reply's guys i am also thinking about ivy bridge but i know it would be worth waiting for as its going to be 22nm but i was wondering if any one knows if there is going to be a i5 2500k equivalent for ivy bridge and also what do you guys think the prices will be like.

Yes there will be an equivalent and it will be the i5 3570k. The ivybridge prices are rumored to be the same as the sandy bridge prices.
