advice needed for project "chimp"

Hi guys,

Its 3.15am and i have been reading about graphics cards since around 8pm yesterday.. im baked!

Right, here is the dilema

What graphics card to put into my project build i really am stuck between the 7970 and gtx 670

which ever i go for it will be water cooled, im leaning towards the 7970 for the overclocking after nvidia pulled the rug somewhat where voltage is concerned... although from what i see it still looks too close to call

i run dual monitors, but can only see myself gaming on a single screen.

Views appreciated, i understand we are debating nano levels in difference potentially, but there is not a lot in price difference and i just cant separate them

Go for the Evga FTW 670, Its got a 680 pcb so better for watercooling

I'm actually gonna go say 7970, as it overclocks like a champ and seems to trounce the competition.

Both are very good cards. If you have the cash, go for the 7970.

I'd say 670 EVGA just for the warranty when you remove the stock cooler

i was pretty much decided on where i was going to go with this morning... 7970

now i have just been offered a couple of GTX 580s with waterblocks installed for a what seems to be a bargain. im still leaning toward 7970 though lol

580's still retail for £280-£320 each, thats a bargain! Even one 580 can play the most recent titles at high-ultra at 1080....

If he's willing to pay retail for a 7970 over this deal, I think we have to assume that the "two hours of work" is prostitution.

Joking aside, better safe than sorry I suppose. Unless you know exactly how much stress those 580's have been exposed to.
