Got a few films (non eng.) downloaded from internet. Also got eng. subtitles. Can watch it in winsubtitle but how can I add subtitles to the film permanetly?

Thanks

This link should give you complete guides on any project regarding subtitles , e.g vcd , svcd , dvd . Adding and removing.... All the best.

You can use VirtualDub to add subtitles to your video files or you can use BS Player to play both video and subtitles at the same time without altering the original video file.

OH! I never know there are so many things we could do!!

Thanks!

Wouldn't it be better to keep the subs seperate? Adding them to the file would surely mean reencoding which is bad, bad, bad.

Depends on what you want to do with the video file after. If you just want to watch on your PC, yes you don't need to reencode the file and just use BS Player. I usually reencode my video with the subtitles so I can watch them on the move with my PSP ;)
