adding a HDD

hello

so im adding a HDD for storage, but i cant understand what to do so the computer sees it, i got a asus rampage IV mobo, what do i do in the bios to use it

ps, my first bulid so dont hate

Plug it in and turn on the PC. It should be seen in the BIOS without doing anything as long as the port it's connected to is enabled. Once in Windows you will need to partition and format the drive in Disk Management.

aha, i found it in the bios but in not in disk management :S

You will have to initialize the disk if it's new, but disk management should have prompted you for that. Do you see the drive listed in device manager?

In disk manager, on the left hand panel, right-click on Disk Management and try Rescan Disks. Should then query for newly added drives...
