Acceptable idle temps?

Hey folks. I'm using H80i with 2x AF120 and was wondering what idle temps should be at. Room temp is 25c~. Specs are as seen below. I'm getting High 20's to Low 30's. I'm using STG1 and was wondering if dissecting the IHS would be a good idea now?

Oh and I'm currently OC'd at 4Ghz, so raising it further would no doubt push the idle temps towards 40 I bet.

Idle temps don't matter too much as long as they are not ridiculously high. Also remember that your temps won't drop lower than your ambient temp.
Low 30's is just fine. What are your temps under load?
Don't bother deliding unless you really want to OC to the max and you are okay with losing you CPU, mistakes happen if you haven't done it before or are not careful enough.

Idle temps aren't an issue, I'm OC'd to 4.6GHz on a Haswell CPU and all that safety stuff is off so it is constantly 4.6GHz @ 1.26v with my PC in "full silent" mode when I'm not gaming, all fans low. This created a maximum idle of 44c, turn all fans up to 60% in game, max 70c on GPU's and CPU.

Again, don't worry about idle temps. My 2500k used to idle at 40c with fans up 50% but leave them at 50% and game, rarely seen 65c.

If I open a window and turn fans on 100% I idle at 21c on bottom GPU, 26c on top gpu and 28c on CPU, rather have a little idle heat than the noise though.

Have I done something wrong? Core-i series is still new grounds to me. Perhaps I'll need a H100i after all... Or should I read the OC for newbies? I've removed the GTX card I had before, so maybe the iGPU is the main culprit here? I'm running Memory @ 1333mhz right now.

I've done said thing twice now, and I even went back to Win7 hoping it would solve things but to what extent? I'm awaiting a new case and will hopefully jump to H100i as this block seems broken. However, Corsair link states everything is up and running... rather mind boggling.

Don't worry about idle temperatures. They don't mean jack. Honestly if you care about low idle temps you should get an AMD cpu ;D .
The load temperatures are scary if they are touching 100c. It seems like your chip isn't a silicone lottery winner. How did you get your OC?

At stock I reach the low 80's with Linpack, so I guess what they say about silicon lottery is true...

I guess dissecting it is the only way now. As for OCing I was using auto voltage and I still am. Maybe H100i will prove to be a different story as I prefer my rig as quiet as possible

Thats the problem, then. Auto volts err on the side of caution. Auto voltage always goes waay too high, meaning excessive heat. Basically if you do overclocking the proper way you'll be fine.
Here is a video Tom made that shows you how to OC:

How do you do your thermal paste?
