basically the M is highly efficient and highly overclockable due to the low heat output .. @ 2.3GHZ the P-M nears a FX-53 @ 2.4 in most benchmarks ... cept it doesnt have much heatoutput .. STOCK[Pentium-M stock cooling is a very small HS w/ a slow 60 mm fan] can cool it @ 2.5 .. the limiting factor is usually ur mobo/RAM

Pentium M doesnt suport EM64T oe SEE3 tho ... dual core P-M chips are expected soon (and with a rating of 24 watts)

Ditch NetBurst, Prescott, and everything to do with it.

Start out on a clean sheet, like the PIII/Coppermine/Tualitin/Northwood.

Make it efficient, cool running, w/ good features.

Make it clock amazingly high .

Yeah yeah something along the lines of that.

clean sheet then not northwood -- tho it is the only good netburst

problem is if they were to do that then they would be admitting that the past 4 years were a mistake and the mobile and desktop divisions are differnt and independant and both have big egos and think their approach is correct

i got about £500 for it, and it would prolly be better to have my intel as my main rig, as it is better not at gaming, but at normal windows things, which is primerily what i use mine for

EDIT: and it aint better than my amd rig, notice the 512 of ram, and the geforce 4, it is a loooot worse, sure the processor may be better, and maybe the mob, but thats it

If you want a backup system incase you fux it up, you get a SEMPRON w/512MB PC2700.

no, cos i want a backup thats just as powerfull!, i cant stand slow systems ESPECIALLY SEMPRONS, i dunno y i got my current sempron, its terable, takes like 10 minits to load windows up from cold...LITERALLY
