A PC for the wife

[hmmblah]

I'm pretty particular about my computer. I hate it when someone messes with it, my wife included. She's into digital photography, facebook, etc. and I really don't want that on my PC and she has a horrible habit of closing my folding clients. I convinced my wife she needs a new computer so the following build satisfies a few very important factors.

1) She won't be using my computer

2) Extra PPD

3) ???

4) Profit

It will also be for friends when they come over.

Specs:

CM HAF 912 Case

Intel i7 2600k

Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3

Mushkin Blackline DDR3 1600 4GB

MSI Hawk GTX560Ti

WD Black 640GB

Noctua NH-D14

Corsair TX750

DVD Burner

ASUS 19" LCD Monitor (she hates big monitors, actually wanted smaller than this

)

This machine is beyond overkill for her needs, but I'm hoping this will get her into PC gaming. She really wants to try out Portal and Portal 2 when this is up and running. It will mostly be folding anyway.

Wires after. I ran out of zip ties so it's not as tied down as I usually like. Made it a pain to get the side on. Oh, and I found another bag of zip ties just as I finished, go figure.

She only games on consoles right now, games like Zelda. This will hopefully get her into PC gaming though.

It will definitely be folding. If I hadn't planned on folding it would have been an i3 rig with onboard video.

Me too. Looking at the pics I wish I would have gotten a case with a black interior.

It really puts things into perspective. Even Sam (my wife) was impressed with the D14 and she didn't even know what it was for.
