Right all

Only ever had 1 pc...and has been constantly upgraded in terms of gfx and soundcard over last 2.5yrs. The FX has gone RIP...now for a new era in mullets riggage. I need your help peeps..am moving over to c2d...and need your help. I dont want to shell out too much on a new CPU...so heres my selection to date:

E6300 for price : overclockability imo.

Can anyone dig out that XS thread where the guy did a comparison of all the c2ds. I can't find it anywhere.

Don't know about the thread at XS, but 6300 is definately the best route to take. I've been seeing some people pull off some nice 100% overclocks on those beasts. If I were gonna get a C2D, 6300 would definately be my choice. That or possibly the 6400.

A 6300 is max value in my opinion. My 6600 OC's well but it hasn't gone as far as I wanted it to

What about the water cooling side of things...still have my 7800GTXs whixch will be EK'd...my nf4 chipset block will be redundant... Does the AW9D Max have a chipset which I can cool with H2o? If so...what block would be best.

The AW9D Max has a three tier heatpipe cooler cooling PWM IC's, SB and NB

There should be enough room to fit in a sound card. Usually you won't be able to fit it in the first PCI slot after the PCI Express slots, but the one after that should have enough room for a sound card.

what about with an EK water block on lower of the cards....AND an x-fi fitted?

If it's the SLI EK block without the pipes sticking out I think you may be ok

It is the sli block..

But pipes will run out of 2nd gfx card down towards x-fi.....

If you could tell me and be 100% sure it would work then my money is goinf to A-bit bud...
