A little Doubt

Well I have a motherboard Abit Ip35 Pro, the thing is that I had a little issue that bothered me, it recognized the usb keyboard, but in the exact moment that i tried to boot into a disk it didnt recognized when I pushed the keys, so i had to be looking for a ps2 keyboard, so I decided to update the bios and i did, but then I realized something happened.

Before I updated the bios my CPU (Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450) would keep the temperature at 5º or 12º at most, and when I was playing a lot it would rise to 23º, the fan of the cooler (it still is the intel cooler I will buy the zalman soon), was running at a speed of 3100rpm to 3300 rpm, now after the bios update, my CPU runs the temperature between 30º and 50º, and the rpm of the fan would go no more than 2800rpm

I would apreciate any advice

nah, forget it, i downgrader my bios to the previous one I had saved just in case, now its running between 5º and 12º again

those temps look really dodgy to me (5º to 12º) The temps which are 30º to 40º are more satisfying. It seems that you do need the bios fix. just in case research what the new bios fixes.

well but still, the readings of 35º or even 40º I think they are right, but to have 55º in iddle, well the only thing I was running was the messenger, and I didn't played anything in that day, I was reading about the fixes in the bios here they are:

I dont see any other heat issue but the S3 return heat but even that way I dont have S3 enabled, I still think that 55º in iddle is too much :S, any advice?

Check your heatsink is seated correctly, intel stock coolers are renowned for not seating correctly due to the plastic push mounts.

yeah, that's what I though at the beggining because when I monted the cooler it was a little bit hard because it always keeped a little bit loose, but it is well mounted :S,

also I'm having a second though on the zalman CNPS9700LED xD I was checking the coolermaster hyper z600, it's almost at the same price range, I think I will end up buying that, it seems a lot better than the zalman but as well damn big, and I'm not too sure if that installed blocks some slots for the ram, i think it does, and having the ocz reaper with the dominator airflow would get me some problem of space.

so any recomendation on a powerfull cooler wich doesnt take that much of a space?
