Hello,
Today I managed to get my 3570K to 4.5GHz, ran a stress test using Intel XTU for 3 hours and it was stable and the absolute max temp I hit was 68 degrees.
I was pretty happy to get this clock with these kind of temps, however:
a) I had to set the voltage to 1.35v. From what I've read, this is stupidly high for a 4.5GHz clock but it's what I require for it to be stable.
b) I successfully delidded my CPU today as my temps were bloody awful.
Is 68 degrees MAX a good temp for a delidded 3570K @ 1.35v?
I am led to believe that I did NOT win the silicon lottery with my CPU seeing as it's so needy for juice.
System specs are:
3570K CPU
MSI z77a G45 mobo
H80i cooler
16GB RAM
OCZ ModXStream 600w PSU
Thanks.
