A Great Performance Build :D

Hello Hello All :D,

-snip-
This is my first time posting here, and due to the great community posts and replies i have seen, and so I've decided that the feedback/criticism from here will play the biggest role on my final decisions. (I've also seen a lot of various videos done by Tiny Tom)

My main goal with this build is mostly gaming, but i do happen to work on this PC as well. In terms of budget, i can't say i have a limit but my subconscious won't let me go All "Titan Z" on the new build. I'm patient with up coming new releases, but i don't want to wait too long otherwise I'll fall into the "But this is coming up!" time vortex. I'm also addicted to Mint Green tea.

I currently run 2x 23" Monitors @ 1080p and 60hz, but my new build will be focusing on 2x 27" Monitors @ 2560x1440 and at least one of the monitors with 144hz (I tried it, and i can't resist not having 120/144hz for gaming).

Here is how far I've gotten with my build:

1- CPU: i7-2600k (Used from current build) -> Till the Haswell E is launched Q3-4, 2014 (8 core CPU)
2- Motherboard: asus-motherboard-p8z77vlk -> Will be changed with LGA 2011 once i got the new Haswell-E CPU
3- Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory
4- Storage: Samsung 840 Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
5- Storage: Western Digital WD Black 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
6- Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Superclocked ACX Video Card (2-Way SLI)
7- Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Superclocked ACX Video Card (2-Way SLI)
8- Main Monitor: Asus ROG Swift PG278Q
9- 2nd Monitor: Samsung S27A850T 27.0" Monitor (60hz, not finalized)
10- OS: Windows 7 (Used from current build)
11- Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
12- Case: Slightly undecided, but probably Corsair 760T Arctic white.

1. Is the PSU Overkill? I will probably end up OC'ing the GPUs, and CPU.
2. Is there any way to confirm 100% that having 1x (120/144Hz) monitor will not be effected by a second 60hz monitor with Nvida control panel?
3. If i go with the A. Corsair 760T, or B. Colossus Windowed, or C. CM Stormstryker XL. Will i have any heating issues?
4. taking into consideration question number 3 (if the answer is yes) What kind of further cooling methods should i apply to sustain my GPU and CPU's temperture?
5. Does this seem like a solid build? Or maybe somewhere can be improved on?
6. Cheesecake (With any topping) vs Chocolate cake, which would you choose?

The only person that title summoned was me :P and I've corrected it because it drives me freakin' MAD!

What are you using your pc for? If its just for gaming that i7 (the 8 core one) is a complete waste of money.

Yes its used for gaming, isn't cores like possibly required in the future? think 4-5 years from now.

And Noooooooooo!! to the title thing :P

I run a 144hz display with a 60hz secondary on my 780, and don't have an issue with 1 running at a different refresh rate.

I agree that cpu is probs overkill, but if you have the cash and might wanna water cool it something then its a nice base to go at.

The only down side to running two different displays is that you cant split games into running 2, id personally got for 3x24" 2k 1440p displays or that gorgeous ultra wide lg display ... but thats just me if i had that horse power id wanna wrap around or fork out for 1 4k display,

Also if your not OC'ing to much maybe drop back on the ram clocks abit maybe 2133 might save a few pennies.

and id check to see if they do WC blocks for those cards.

I do intend to on OC'ing my GPU and possibly, CPU. Since most of you disagree with waiting for Haswell-E, then would you guys suggest in getting the new 4790k ?

Any feed back on the PSU? and any parts running too hot with certain cases i mentioned above.

I definitely want to still stick to 2x 2560x1440 displays so i'd like further feed back in that regards. Btw guys, thanks a lot for chiming in. Can you please further explain what do you mean with "id check to see if they do WC blocks for those cards."

Would be grateful with some feedback on unanswered questions guys :o
