So, recently the temps have shot up from 60c load to 70-80c I have dusted blown the dust out, I keep my rig dust free so I don't see that an issue. So i am looking for a replace none stock CPU heat-sink, Low profile would be nice as when I plan to upgrade I am going to put this rig in a slightly smaller case.

I would not like to go over £30 is possible. I am not overclocking as it cant. My case has descent airflow, as my GPU idles at around 30c and on load its 60c.

I have a Coolmaster Cooler Master 690 ii, Two 140mm fans up to 3 120mm fans one side, one floor and one rear. All running at around 1000 rpm. My motherboard is slightly weird, I would like to upgrade that also, but this is not that this topic is about! ( If you could suggest one that would be awesome! I plan to keep the CPU )

My motherboard is Desktop Board DH61WW http://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dh61ww.html. My PSU is 850w. I also have 16gb of teamgroup eilte ram. Dual channal

The fact you dont say what brand your PSU is worries me. Cheap no brands are such a bad idea.

Also for your rig 500W would have been overkill......

As for coolers why not take a look on the front page of the site first and get a few ideas.... Or at least look round a shop and come here with some questions....

Right Okay, I will go into more detail and link some CPU heat-sinks I have been looking at I would like the pin push ones, But can go different if need be.

I have a XFX Pro Series 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply. Sorry for the lack of Info I am new here.

Onto the heat-sinks I have been looking at. My Price range Is also £50 max. ( can push but for an i3 2100, I dont think I should.)

This is all I came up with at the moment, Would like some help with people who might know heat-sinks better than I. Again sorry for the lack of info.

PS. Also if anyone could recommend me a new motherboard that would be awesome! I Plan to just one gpu - maybe sound card, network card. ( I this is the wrong place to post this bit but i thought i chip it in :) )

I sorted it, I replaced with a friends stock one he got with his i5, It has a copper core mine did not temps are 30 idle and 60 on load, Not bad for a stock cooler!!!!, But thanks for the help I really do like it. I will keep it mine when I upgrade further!

Cooler master 212 evo is quite good from what i hear :)

/thread

Dollar for dollar its maybe the best cooler on the market and will handle all but the heaviest overclocking. I was able to get this heat generating monster 8150 to 4.4 with a Hyper. Got to 4.6 with a H100! That's a lot of performance for a $30 cooler.

Yes, I agree the cool master eve 212 is beastly for price, my friend has a stable OC @ around 4.2 with OC genie thing. He hopes to push it more as it has a lot of head room

I was actually referring to the 212+ and not the Evo. I shoulda paid attention better. :D

The Evo is just as good. Some reviews shows it cooling better than the + while others show it cooling worse. It uses a different fan and they spin at a slower speed so theyre quieter. I had my + running dual Cooler Master fans in push/pull and I never had a problem with noise.
