A good pair of fans

I need 2 120mm fans for my radiator and just wondered which would be my best choice? i was think the Yate Loon but if any of you guys have any good suggestions let me know lol..

Yate loons would be a top choice mate. As would Scythes. What are you looking for more though? airflow or silence?

Im looking for a good balance hence the choice of the yate loons. Preferably a set of fans on specialtech lol.

While Noctua's may be fantastic, theyre a whole tenner more than the yates.

Id go with the yate loons tbh.

Yep, yate loons here too. Although these sharkoons are pretty good.

Yea AS5 will be fine for your CPU, dont expect miracle temps to start off with, it needs time to cure

+1 vote for the Loonies, you cannae beat 'em. At £3.99 they are an absolute bargain. I would have liked to try the Noctua but I needed six and thought that spending £85 on fans is a bit mad.

+1 vote for arctic silver 5. It's all I ever use.

Check the thermal paste comparison I reposted from XS. Several pastes beat AS5 by a good deal. Its in the air cooling section. AS5 is way overpriced (and I bought a big tube :(). Yate loons are cheap and good, sharkoons are better but expensive and a little hard to find. SilenX is total

Just check the fan test I reposted from XS (again) done by Vapor ;) BTW Nocuta has very low pressure...bad for rads/heatsinks.

SilenX are good fans. I know I have like 5. They're actually pretty quiet and shift a lot of air (38mm ones)

Just buy some sharkoons or yates and you'll be even more impressed :D

I have tried out loads of fans and the SilenX are still pretty decent. Sharkoons were real hard to get when I built my project so I got the SilenX and they work a treat, although are louder than the rating. I have tried just about every fan on the market tbh

Quiet (case): Noctua, Sharkoon, Smaller SilenX

Air movement + loud: Panaflows or Deltas

Quietish for RAD: Yate Loons, SilenX 38mm or Sharkoon higher CFM

Just some extra info, one of the silverstones (FM121 I think), emb-papst fmgl4412 (I think that's the model correct me if I got some numbers/letters mixed up) and the Sharkoons are some of the best fans there are. Yate loons are very cheap and aren't very far behind. I've heard tons of horror stories about silenXs breaking and stuff...One guy on XS (masaville) bought some yate loons and it turns out, the yate loons pumped MORE air and were QUIETER than the SilenXs...

Noctuas are extremely quiet but have poor pressure so don't stick them on rads if you happen to have one. All the fans I mentioned have relatively good pressure I believe, so they're suitable for using on a rad.

Thanks, ive bought 2 yate loons, they arnt much so ill see how they work, if not ill be getting some expensive ones. lol.. :D THanks again guys.

I'm looking at some Yate Loons too.

NCIX has 2 models:

1. Yate Loon D12SL-12 120MM 47CFM 28DB - $7.99

2. Yate Loon D12BL-12 120MM 45CFM 24DB - $9.99

I'd be willing to pay the extra $2 for the quieter fan, but will I notice much of a difference between the 45CFM and 47CFM?
