98860's Continuous Climb in F@H Ranking

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'd like to think I helped stave off the impending LinusTechTips overtake for a few hours maybe.

You're welcome dude. Your efforts have helped a great deal and are very much appreciated. If only we had a dozen more members like you to keep them off for good.

Core15

After a few days of almost exclusively core18 jobs, then a few core17, I got my first core15 WU. And don't they suck the life right out of you. Why such piss poor points ?

Edit:

Well, at least I got my first day over 500k before the core15s ruin my figures lol

After a few setbacks, I've made it to 5 million :D

So happy to see people are still folding, just remember what your doing and who you're helping. One of those 5.5m points could be the cure for cancer for all we know. Everyone around the world, regardless of team, is doing an amazing thing by allowing some of the greatest minds to use some of our un needed power to find cures to diseases.

Well done everyone, I've just started to fold again because my cooling can take it now (after some cpu voltage tweaking). Seems a little low for me but I'm actually only getting around 30k PPD but I'm usually doing a solid 70k on my little 7870. I should be getting a new card anytime now so this card will be going into a home server pc/HTPC build that I've got coming up.

Anyone folding on a GTX 980? thinking of getting one to replace my GTX 760

At a guess, I'd say a 980 should perform somewhere between a 780 and a 780ti. That is 150k-220k PPD. The 980 clocks faster but has less cores than a 780ti, and cores seems to be what counts.

Anyway, it will way out perform a 760.

Hope this helps.

hey just wanted to let you guys know i'm folding on some new hardware.

i've got the following running 24/7:

Intel 4770k, 5820k, 2350M
AMD 1100T oct-core
ATI 6970
Nvidia 780Ti x2, 770 and 465

Wow, some impressive hardware you have there. You have a long, long way to go before you can compete with Steve (we all do).

Are those PPD numbers even realistic, because it jumped up to over 800k one time

That is still very good.

The most I've seen projected was over 900k PPD, which I thought is impossible. It's with the P9406 WUs...

I will see what happens today. I will let the machine fold pretty much all day long because I have to go to work...

Be sure to post back with your results!

This is what I saw after a little over 12h of folding straight. I started yesterday around midnight (16h ago for those who are in a different time zone), and I figure that for the last 12h or so I got all the PPD with all the bonus points like I should...

I will try not to use my rig today so I get a fair number I guess. But the realistic number is either way after a week, and I won't wait that long...

My 290X on 9406 WU's varies a lot on PPD. Anywhere from 175 to 320K PPD....
Unfortunately the high PPD WU's are rare:(

So that's why the PPD keeps jumping up and down like crazy. Either way I concluded my little test phase. I need to use my PC again, and I guess around 500k PPD are still possible. Which isn't all that bad considering that I'm folding with only 3 graphic cards. It's nearly like it was with my old folding farm.

I got to 50 million points too, which is quite a nice contribution for this team considering I'm a part time folder. I bet I can get to 100 million as well eventually.
