98860's Continuous Climb in F@H Ranking

And we still wouldn't catch steve!
True, but its more about getting new members to score big straight away rather than them getting disheartened by the crappy scores you get for the first 10 work units.

I also think that somewhere on the site we should publish users that have passed milestones, top 20 overall and top 20 producers for the month.

We could also have a folder of the month, and show rigs and setups. Similar to what they do for Bit-Tech/Custom PC...

Just to try and increase the profile on the site, with a few more articles?

lol this isn't about passing steve, we have a good influx of new folders thanks to TTL.

Core 17 with QRB should be just around the corner for mainstream advanced GPU folders and that may become the focus of F@H for the future... remains to be seen though

Some of the better cards are doing 120K+ and those are not always Titans^_^

Just have to wait and see how it shahes out...still ATM Nvidia cards+SMP are taking a big SMP hit due to lack of driver optimizations for OpenCL ie. 1 full core to run a Nvidia card while the AMD guys are at 1-3% per card......

More to come as it matures

True and I think most of accept we can't :p

As TTL said just after the '44th!!' post a lot of teams are catching up and our scores are dropping every day, we could do with finding a way to keep people folding. It would also help if a couple of people with 7970's or something got folding which should give both us and them a hefty amount of PPD.

As a response to getting the first 10 SMP units done quickly...

I realised a couple of days ago that I haven't been getting my QRB's so had a look around and got myself a passkey then changed my config to run 3 single thread CPU slots insted of one 3 thread and did the same on my laptop. Yes I get useless scores seen as I'm folding 240 point WU's but they're quick and someone needs to do them. As soon as I start getting QRBs again then i'll change it back and get some more points.

It may be useful for someone to make a sticky thread for new folders explaining setup and what to expect from folding as well as low points on those first 10 SMP units.

Alternatively or additionally TTL could make a video on it when he is a little less busy

Here's a quick install guide. It tells where to get the passkey.

Excellent idea, any volunteers to step up and do this? /nudges sheroo

There is a folding hardware thread...somewhere. You'll find that the bigger folders won't be sharing pics of rigs as they are usually fairly ugly and spread about, missing cases, etc.

Back up to 45th, with 44th a couple weeks away. Quite a struggle to just get back to where we were!!

We definitely need some folding help as we were maintaining 2 million PPD and have dropped off to about 1.8 million PPD.

Lets get all those capable GPUs and CPUs at OC3D folding for 98860!!!

Agreed, I upgraded to to a nice shiny new 760 about a month ago and it certainly works better than the ol' 5770!

I could go back to overclocking my system. Would be an additional 100k PPD. But it runs soooo smoothly right now. And 550k PPD isn't that bad...

I'm back, guys - the heat wave in SoCal was too much. My AC would keep the house at a balmy 85F running full time if I was folding, so it had to stop for a bit. Cooler weather now, so I should be back at full speed, although I'm noticing I'm not getting the QRB's I was a few weeks ago - let's not let Linus' boys catch us!!

Welcome back!

Welcome back Gardella!!

It would be next to impossible to stop the Linus guys as they are catching us at 3 million points per day, glad we have a huge lead over them:lol:

Hm, figured it was time to get my 7850 folding. At stock clocks i'm getting over 40k PPD from it - oh how times have changed.
Not only this, but my temperatures don't seem to be exceeding 45*C - weird.
Still, it's nice to see 60k PPD to my name.

It actually reached 75k PPD earlier, combining with the CPU for around 90k. Just happened to be the time that I needed to shut everything down for gaming - sod's law at its finest.

Congrats everyone! Just wish we could do something about Linus. Hard to compete with 5 million PPD though...That said I still can't believe the numbers we pull.

It's odd though. Stevehat1 and myself pull off half the teams PPD pretty much on daily bases these days. It is hard to imagine that with all the AMD GPU support lately we can pull that off. I can't believe my server is still able to compete even without OC.

I hear though that the new 12 core Xeons are just as fast as my Server if it were overclocked. Amazing really, especially considering it only uses half the wattage!

Just started folding again. got my first 2 Units done i believe. don't have to worry about paying for power either as i'm at uni ;)

Glad to be helping the team if and when the pc is not doing anything else.
