980ti Matrix 3-way SLI bridge?

Looking at the test rig in OC3D's Extreme assembly review, I wonder how they managed to fit the 3-way SLI bridge onto the 980ti Matrix. I remember in the review for them, he showed how you couldn't use it due to the graphics cards being 2.5 slots thick. How did mod the SLI bridge?

Its a 3-way sli bridge. so the 2nd card was just where the 3rd card would normally be in a dual slot card tri-sli setup. No mod needed.

As said above it is a 3 way bridge.

Even if it does fit it is not the best option to use as it is not designed for 2 way use even though it will run.

I was testing a rigid 3 way bridge like that in a 2 way system the other day. I actually got better performance from a cheap 2 way bridge than I did from the rigid 3 way one.

I already have a 2-way ROG SLI bridge, but I'm getting a new mobo soon. Currently I'm doing a 2-way-m, but I'll have to expand to 2-way-L. This SLI bridge is the one I want, and I'd like to know how they pulled it off.
