benches the new GTX using both dual core Wolfdale and quad core Yorkfield.

Clock for clock it is the same as the GTS, but due to better power/caps etc clocks higher.

At high res with AA/AF it will be interesting to see how the new GTX fairs against the old. Something tells me the 256 mem bus will be a problem...

Edit: THe power of the 9800GTX begining to show? Victor got his hands on new drivers 174.4, scores have gone up a fair amount!

Nice!

2160 for shader clock is pretty serious. Hopefully GX2 can reach close to those numbers!

How is this card nice!? An OC'd 8800GTS rebranded with a 256 mem bus and fook all else...

I want to see some fraps RL gaming before I bash the card though...

Maybe not be nice for someone who already bought a 8800GTS512 but with tri-sli and better oc'ing it probably will be the card of choice in the future.

lmao unless they remake them to run @ 850mhz as stock !

sheesh.

Several months back, I would have thought the performance woulda been 16/17k 3dmark06 - stock.

Oc to 19k ? hmmm

Gotta be something about the card that puts it above it`s relatives. ?!?!?

sorry for hijacking the thread... but tbh ddr3 is a fuking joke...

ddr3.jpg

at these timings i can get my crucial ballistix ddr2 to run at 4-3-3-9 at 450mhz (900 effective), i mean wtf is the point of ddr3? the guy probably lost 1000 marks for using these timings.

anyway, nice to see gpu hitting 900mhz :)

No way man! He is running @ 1800mhz effective, look... You'd be ~9 his ram ~6.5, i.e faster/better!

Back to the gpu, I want to see RL stuff with more attainable OC's!

ahh my bad, thought cpu-z shows effective speed, damn it makes sense now. should have gathered that from multiplier 1:2

lol thats cool man, but that chart is damn useful when figuring out which settings are best - freq vs lat...

Oh, Rast - 06 not updated because the new drivers didn't change his scores. I really hope RL perf is good or I'm stuck with the X2 for a while. Don't get me wrong it's good but I want a card that blows me (away).

As the 790i looks pretty hot I'm almost sold on the idea of a sli rig... But the gpu's look weak atm...

Well supposedly the 9800GTX is going to be around 8800GTS 512 price OC quite a bit more so, who knows...

lol look at crysis still struggling :(

Still if that price is true then thats not bad at all!! I'll be having 1 maybe 2 of them in the states!

Yeah I think the whole article was leaning towards nVidia talking people into buying a 2nd graphics card as opposed to buying a qx9650 as an upgrade. Bit unrealistic. Don`t think they considered a Q6600 being cheaper than a GTX.

We found out why it takes all the power it does yet in terms of its performance ?
