How does the 2ghz x2 compare to the Opteron 170 denmark ?

@ stock, and overhead for clocking ? (bareing in mind these are possibly not good-ole orginal 939 revisions, they will be new good/bad? )

I would have thought they would be practically the same mate. The opty may have a little more headroom due too its more stable IMC, but i wouldn't upgrade form the X2 too and opty as they're sill expensive as...

I`m looking at the pov of `backup` cpus atm for a few aging 939 boards I know of.

I`ve seen 4200/4000 x2 selling for quite a high price, but in comparison there are the likes of 175 Denmarks for ~£85 (including a crappy bundle of usb shizzle).

Just figuring state-side, half of £85 might be a nice purchase and add some years to a work horse.

Personally, I think I`d be disappointed buying latest 939s and expecting them to clock like old ones >.<

Ah i see. Well in that case yeah, go for which ever is cheapest. As i said they are very similar.

Just one thing, the optys have 2 x 1m cache, and the 4000 x2 doesnt (2 x 512kb), but the 4400 x2 comes in both 2 x 1m and 2 x 512kb.
