900D Build Log - Green and Black watercooled.

Question: Do you guys and girls think that I should get a hx850 or hx1050. Just got a full refund because they had none it stock. Has left me with room for thinking. Thanks for the help!

850 would be sufficient...

But IMO you'd be better getting something fully modular.
Look at an AX860i, Maybe a Silverstone Strider 850w, or a Seasonic.

well I'm now stuck with corsair since I did purchase the corsair green sleeved cables for AXi, AX HX and T. So you would tell me to get an ax860i?

AX860i then yeah.

Corsair PSUs are made buy Seasonic - so for the old AX series, the cables worked on Seasonic PSUs too. I can imagine it's the same story with the newer kits, but as they're new it's not really been confirmed yet.

But you may as well just go for an AX860/860i, unless you find a Seasonic a lot cheaper, in which case it may be worth doing some research into whether the cables will work.

Theres no point me going for an 860i just for the corsair link software.. I could just save myself time and money going for the 860. I just hope it will be powerful enough to power like 14 fans a gtx 690 a pump and Motherboard and cpu overclocked.. Would be dissapointed if it didn't..

Hmm I watched this Video by TTL The other day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzmX59XunhM

Seems some cables don't mix with certain Corsair PSU's. Might be worth a watch to see what I'm talking about. Perhaps the cables you're using are fine though. I haven't re-watched to see if I can figure it out.

Looking forward to seeing your completed build!

Cheers,
Ulijin.

Neither can I!
"Corsair Individually Sleeved PSU DC Cable Kit,Type 3 (Gen 2), for AXi, AX, HX, T"
are the cables I bought they will work with an AX860. what I'm worried about is if the 860 will be powerful enough to keep the system going..

Yes it will be more then plenty mate! Go for the AX860 :)

I have to admit ever since seeing the 900D I too have been considering a new build. My current rig is just over 1 year old (The RIVE one in my sig).

I'm getting that itch to get the 900D and a couple titans for a renewal. It'll be almost like a religious experience :P

I shouldn't of had kids, more time to blow on unneeded upgrades haha

HAHAHA, oh my that last bit made me laugh! I'm sure the kids bring you joy in a very very different way. But yes the 900D is stunning, I can't wait to see how my build does with it. Just wish they could send it out to people (that aren't reviewers like our Tom). Can't wait to finish the build and show you guys some photos. Hopefully I'll be the first GREEN and Black build :D

thanks man! found it on ebay the guy had literally just listed it! xD Oh and other bargains in this build was the I7 2600K for £205, GTX 690 (went to america and got it) for £680 and Razer Deathadder 2013 £49.05.

Can anyone tell me a good price worthy 60mm 360 rad and good uv lighting? :)
Thanks guys!

Alphacool UT60s are pretty good. So are XSPC RX series.

As for the UV, don't bother. UV lighting doesn't really work unless the room is completely dark, and you have no other lighting in your case. Even LED fans can spoil it.

I wouldn't have bought the 2600k though tbh. That price isn't exactly outstanding, and 2600ks are just 2700ks that couldn't reach good overclocks by the end of Sandy.
